Red Sea is conscious of the need to reduce our environmental footprint and we achieve this by conserving energy and resources throughout our operations. Be it the choice of raw materials or the manufacturing process, be it the design of innovative products or site installation and servicing at the client premises, we leave no leaf unturned and take the best efforts to reduce the environmental impact.
Pre-cycling is eliminating the very creation of waste – as the saying goes ‘prevention is better than cure’. This is why we entered into the business of prefabrication which uses an off-site manufacturing process that helps the construction industry reduce waste. By prefabricating building units in a quality controlled environment offers the construction industry benefits in terms of time and cost predictability, health and safety, and enhanced skills. Modular construction helps reduce some of the significant waste streams in traditional construction – packaging that contributes up to 5%, timber up to 25%, and plasterboard up to 36%. Effectively we are able to achieve up to 90% reduction in wastes by using off-site manufacturing and modular building construction. Building portable modules results in a lot of energy conservation. It consumes only 3% of the energy that would be consumed if a building need to be re-constructed instead of moving it to the new location. Our Affordable Housing division enables creation of safe, modularized units like kitchen, bathroom pods, and others which are built off-site.
Red Sea produces eco-friendly products and services that conserve energy, eliminate material waste, and preserves water, through our lean manufacturing process. With the reach we have across the world spread over innumerable installations, we know the exponential impact we can create on the global ecology from a single action of embracing eco-friendly products and operations.
Innovatively designing and manufacturing a range of camp utilities including water treatment, wastewater, and sewage treatment, acoustic generator enclosures, fuel and water storage tanks, and stormwater management capabilities, we make sure that we take actions to conserve the environment. Taking a step forward we provide our customers with a comprehensive quality of life and services and maintain aesthetically pleasing accommodation facilities by cultivating plants, flowers, and lawns at remote rugged regions of the world.
We create and utilize eco-friendly materials including PVC ISO certified composite panels and water based coating. Our machineries allow us to recycle the PVC scrap and reuse it again. We also use fixtures that are low flow, and use pressure reduction devices on our installations to conserve energy. The eco-friendly products we use for waste water treatment plants and water retention enable us to provide dust control, toilet flushing and irrigation systems. We also take measures to control the generation of noise, heat, and dust at our project sites. With secured conduit pipes for utilities, we prevent contamination of soil against spillage of oil, affluent, drainage, and other building material and construction waste.
We have participated in and have been awarded 1st place for major campaigns including Clean up the World Day, World Environmental Day, and Reduce Food Waste. Red Sea takes particular care for the handling of hazardous waste through proper storage, transportation, disposal, and communicating the same to employees and maintaining compliance with Government and client regulations.
Modular Building provides economically reusable portable units in a variety of layouts and sizes. Buildings can be easily reused multiple times, and relocated to multiple different locations by one or more clients.
We also recycle and reuse commonly used construction and operational materials such as scrap iron, concrete waste, cardboard, lumber, electrical cable, plumbing piping and oil. The Waste water and sewage treatment plant (MBR) that we offer customers enables them to recycle water. This has enabled customers to create green pastures in remote arid locations where they are located. We have installed this unit in our factories to reuse waste water. By tracking and trending of incoming and outgoing consumable usage amounts versus man-days, we are able to identify potential leaks, damages or waste of natural resource.
Red Sea has a very dedicated Environmental Management Plan and our QHSE works closely with clients to ensure compliance to standards and to create a balance with the local community’s environmental and economic needs. We comply with regulatory and legislative standards such as Presidency of Meteorology and Environment (PME), Royal Commission Environmental Regulations (RCER), Royal Commission Public Health Code (RCPHC) and International standards like OSHA, NFPA, and GHS.
We work with clients, government and industry groups to foster timely development of effective environmental rules, procedures, policies, laws and regulations based on sound science and considering risks, costs, and benefits, including effects on energy and product supply. We provide site/job specific training on QHSE policies and procedures and strictly follow all procedures required by law or company policies for identifying, storing and handling of toxic, hazardous and other regulated materials and wastes. Regulated wastes are disposed through the HSE office alone.
All operations have ongoing Fire Drills, Food Safety Manuals, Camp inspections, ISO and HACCP programs, Job specific Training, Job Hazard Analysis, Daily Reports, and other necessary safety and environmental daily/weekly/monthly reports as part of their management plan. We also have an all-encompassing Incident/Accident Investigation documentation to identify the root cause for any type of near miss or incident, which is circulated to all key management for review and communication and on need basis to outside parties like police, GOSI, client, and/or insurance.
Social Progress: Participation in campaigns like Clean up the World Day, Earth Day, World Environmental Day, Reduce your food waste etc. Rewarding employees by increase in basic salary, annual incentives and recognition certification.
